Jane Clapp, MA, CCC-SLP

Jane has been working with children in New York City for over 20 years. She has extensive experience and a passion for providing meaningful speech and language therapy to children. 

Jane's experience as a pediatric speech-language pathologist inspired her to open Speech and Language with Jane, PLLC as a way to combine high-quality therapy with the dedicated time and attention each client needs and deserves. Jane's sensitive and nurturing personality allows her to build trusting relationships with her clients where they feel safe to explore and practice new skills. Each session includes time for conversation and sharing. 

 

Jane is committed to providing her clients with evidence-based therapy approaches. She has participated in continuing education and advanced training in many areas including:

  • It Takes Two to Talk® - The Hanen Program® for Parents of Children with Language Delays 

  • Developmental Language Disorder

  • Preventing Academic Failure - an Orton Gillingham-based approach to literacy instruction

  • Lively Letters - a research-based, clinically proven reading program

  • Executive functioning teaching approaches taught by Sarah Ward

  • Carol Westby's The Roots of Literacy: Play and Language 

  • Assessment and treatment of culturally and linguistically diverse populations

Jane holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed by the State of New York. She is also a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association's Special Interest Group 01 for Language Learning and Education.
